Hi, I am Joanna Kurowski. I am a photographer and a photography professor currently working in Canada.

Photography is an incredible avenue to see things, to create memories and to keep active.

I photograph people (portraits, headshots, special events such as engagements, proms, weddings) and places (buildings, locations, architectural details, natural resources, city and rural landscapes, sunsets and sunrises). I also photograph animals (who doesn’t like a great portrait of their pet, right?), food (mouthwatering images of deserts always send me back to the kitchen for seconds) and work on conceptual photography projects for my commercial clients.

One of my photography passions is sports photography. I am drawn (for personal reasons) to American Football and love watching the game as much as love photographing it. During the sports season you can see me on the sidelines as I create action shorts, s-portraits (sports portraits - yes that’s a legit word my friends, growing in popularity as sports photography is not just about the action photos), and capture game memories for sports teams, their fans and family members. I have worked (and continue so) with football, basketball and rugby teams. Since 2017 I have been working as the official photographer for the Canadian Junior Football League Team - London Beefeaters.

As creating photographs is important to me, so is studying the art of photography. This is the photography professor side of me and a tribute to my never ending love for books and reading. In 2021 I completed the Masters of Photography program at Falmouth University in the United Kingdom. Since 2022 I have been teaching introductory and advanced college courses in photography. I also offer private classes during the sports off season time. I value passing knowledge to others and enjoy helping others with creating stunning images.
